Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She made her acting debut as Flora McGrath, the romantic drama film The Piano. Paquin is a native of New Zealand, born in Wellington however was born and bred in Winnipeg was first seen in the acting world on screen in The Piano. At age 11 she was an infant Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin.
