Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling professional career in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film, was her first performance. After that, she was a star in a minor role in the feature film Starship Troopers she struggled very for a long time. It was at first was hard for Amy switching from modeling to acting. The reason is that most models aren't good actors. In the majority of cases, they're only given small, insignificant parts. Amy was never discouraged. Her first role came in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. The 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends, which also had Ryan Reynolds, saw her take on larger role. Amy finally got the recognition she had been chasing more than a decade. She went on doing some significant films like the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she was the well-loved character of recurring.
